Absolutely Amazing.

When I attended college, the first wave of neo-Marxist nonsense had become the order of the day. The catchwords are still familiar. Obsessive ramblings about race and "oppression," postmodern "deconstruction" of all that is normal, decent, and objective.

The Smithsonian system of museums is a great American institution. It shouldn't be difficult to appreciate its purpose as a forum for the public to appreciate a wide range of events and personalities in history.

The Smithsonian of late has become grossly corrupted by the Marxist rot that has permeated so much of public life. Journalism, entertainment, the universities, and public schools have all become captive to the cliche’ self-loathings of a propaganda effort to usher in an authoritarian collectivist order.

No one believes that negative events from America's history should be hidden from the public. Certainly most of the public is well-aware of the fact that slavery existed in America's history (though they may not be aware that it existed anywhere else). They know that Europeans conquered land areas previously occupied (though they may not know that it was taken from a largly empty landscape where "native" people often battled and conquored each other).

A family enjoying a trip to a museum should not have to have their children exposed to the latest perverse expressions of "adult" proclivities or the phony impression that they live in a horrible nation with a horrible history.

The "revolution" is on a roll. It's talking points are now beyond predictable. A free society has to allow them their first amendent rights to speak, but that doesn't mean that a day at the museum need be tarnished with the obsessions of Marxists and their perpetual assault on decency.

Conservatives make a point of accurately noting the far left’s track record for killing lots of people. For their part, leftists seeking to make the transition to utopia continually inch their foot into the door while telling us all that it will be different this time. An objective appraisal of history and human nature tells us otherwise.

While not reaching the extremes of mass-murder, during the Covid…event, an emboldened cadre of public figures used the power of government authority to demand obedience from a public with mixed views regarding the need to take a new and potentially dangerous “vaccine.”

I’ve noted before, and it requires repeating, once an extremist political movement gains significant power, their number one purpose become the maintenance of that position. There will always be an opposition, no matter how many Castros tell us they won 99% of the vote. Democratic opposition is a threat to the budding tyrant’s grip on power. The opposition is branded an enemy of the “people,” an enemy of the “revolution,” or a “threat to democracy.” They must be eliminated, through force and violence. It can begin as something as simple as using the FBI or CIA to monitor and jail parents at school board meetings, traditional religious belief, or an uppity “Orange” businessman.

Our own time is no different from the other periods of history when pathological elements rose to the surface of society promising the usual “equity and inclusion.” “Give us absolute authority and that rich guy will pay his fair share,” or relinquish his wealth or…be killed.

The “social democrats” of our time include the usual cast of socialists, communists, anarchists, and Marxists. They differ little from each other in their ultimate goals - the establishment of an all-powerful state under their direction.

The more the current wave of socialists come forward, the more strident their proclamations become. They smell blood in the water and can now be honest regarding what they want — except for that part about holding on to power…and killing their opposition.

I keep seeing opinion polls that show very low approval for the current Vice President. I can understand partisan Democrats and other assorted leftists disapproving but, he’s clearly among the better public officials today. Having read his best-selling book (Hillbilly Elegy) and having watched the film based on it, I’m rather impressed. I admittedly have a bias for public figures with blue-collar backgrounds. It’s still possible in America today to “come from nothing” and reach high positions of power and success.

In the 2028 presidential election, the current conservative options are Vance or Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Both would be positive choices. Who do the Democrats have to fill the role of chief executive? A band of Jacobin lunatics.

Establishment media sources will continue to put their thumb on the scale but, fortunately, they and their views are becoming increasingly irrelevant.

By now, most have seen the many videos made by Europeans and others during the World Cup and their travels in America. In addition to praising everything from the general friendly attitude of Americans to the excessive size of food portions, several have noted the blatant dishonesty regarding the country by media and entertainment sources. Sources that warned that Americans were cold, selfish, and of course “greedy.” Americans themselves are critiqued daily by mainstream venues as heartless, shallow, and ignorant.

I wouldn’t include myself among those mocked as “flag-waving” jingoists but I think America is not only okay but in several regards ideal if one values their living conditions and opportunities for advancement. Of course all countries have their pockets of failure. It seems that many in media and “education” are obsessed with America’s flaws going so far as to regularly obsess on conditions a hundred-and-sixty years ago.

I hold the view that nations and cultures have something akin to a personality. The patterns in their behavior are not unlike what one finds in individuals. Some lash out at everyone. Some are notably kind. There are introverted and extroverted nations.

The individual, family, local community, and nation replicate like a fractal echoing through a social system. Some of us like the niche we occupy and cheer on “our team.” Some of us don’t. There are now many among us who despise the larger family we exist within and they want you to share their bitterness and disenchantments.

Patriotism is part of a complex dynamic that exists upon a spectrum from blind admiration to it’s opposite, utter disdain.

Degrees of patriotism are when you like the broader family you belong to. To like the nation one is a part of does not require allegiance to its governing structure. Government is only one part of a complex matrix of culture. Personally, I think it’s pretty stupid to “love”your government. We can appreciate the structure of a government and how much benefit citizens may experience under it but that’s quite different from honoring the values and character of a people, their history, and creative spirit.

The clowns of journalism have recently made a fuss over the President’s attempts to make America’s Smithsonian museum system depict the nation in a more positive light. Many exhibits sound like they were written by Marxist college professors. In their eyes there is nothing good to be said about America. It’s reasonable to occasionally dwell with misgivings on times in our life when we may not have have been our best but who makes it a point to view our entire existence as negative. “I/we suck” is hardly sane or reasonable yet, following the schemes of leftist bureaucrats and “educators,” America is one horrid enterprise of racism, violence, and autocratic cruelty. The irony is that, when measured to numerous historical precedents, the nation is one of the better examples of how well a people can live, materially and culturally.

Self-criticism is certainly warranted at times but the leftist industrial complex has made it their sole enterprise. The scheming paradox in the left’s hatred of America is that they can point their finger, conjuring a distance from their target of contempt while pretending to be self-effacing. “America and Americans are terrible. We’re terrible…but, I’m not one of them.”

I won’t even elaborate on the utter ridiculousness of expressing hatred for America based on one’s hatred for an elected president with a little over two years remaining in his term. “I hate America because…Orange man bad.”

There is such an abundance of videos now available by Europeans discovering for the first time the real America seldom shown by establishment media elites, that American citizens themselves may realize, “maybe we really aren’t that bad.”

Maybe some Americans will come to see that It’s a good thing to love one’s family, community, …and nation.

The "American lean."

I noticed this last year when Trump held a "military parade." in Washington D.C. While most country's soldiers at such events march rigidly and mechanically -- "goose-stepping" in some cases -- the American parade marchers held an almost casual shuffel as if they were on a stroll in a park.

For a more menacing contrast, the Chinese People's Liberation Army. Complete with leftist grimace.

I'll probably address this more fully later. For now I want to at least quickly note that this current barrage of locally elected communists is considerable cause for concern. It never requires a majority to pull off a "revolution." Twenty percent will do, particularly in view of the fact many voters who could save the day don't even vote. Who does vote? Angry twenty-something single women still wondering why their Marxist lesbian Latin-American Studies degree is failing to produce a job beyond barista. I realize that this is a caricature but not all that much.

Radical overturning of a system or culture is nothing new. We (they) have the template. Their foot is in the door. the next step is to steal lots of money (taxes) from those who have "too much." The money will be used to offer just enough bread and circuses to appear reasonably good on their promises. Down the road, enough authority will be direcred to the state/party system that they will be able to use the power of government to eliminate opposition and punish those who dared be opposed to the "revolution." When the stolen funds are squandered, they'll begin to siphon the very blood of the population, blaming the still looming "enemies of the revolution."

This new breed of collectivist psychopaths will either be stopped in their tracks -- soon -- or, we're in for a wild ride. Watch what happens when they swing the borders wide open. ...Honor your second anendment.
